Can you belive it's almost September already? Wow! Well with each new month comes a new "Featured Couple" over at iDoOriginals.com. Here's a little sneak peek of our fabulous new couple Lauren & Vance. Be sure to check the website tomorrow to find out more about this beautiful wedding!

Also, don't forget tomorrow is the launch of the new embroidery line from ExclusivelySew!

I'm seeing dots...

Polka dots! Who doesn't love polka dots?! They're just so cute and fun but they can be classy too. Bride Sharese new right away that she loved our pre-ready monogram 8C- it's the perfect combination of class & fun with the elegant script font offset by all the polka dots and captured in a pretty square border. The deep purple and bright green make this combination even more fun and I love the way the colors play off eachother. Sharese ordered an aisle runner with a matching table runner, a parasol with the same "B" from the monogram, a thank you parasol in a matching script, and a verse banner in that pretty purple. We're so excited for Sharese to display these items at her wedding and we can't wait to see lots of pictures from the big day... next Saturday! Best wishes Sharese & Jarrett!

A Little More Fall & Some Fabulous

I wanted to share another fall runner with you as well as some of our other latest creations! Dawn came to us way back in 2007 for custom monograms for her October '08 wedding. She wanted designs that incorporated leaves and had a natural elegance... so that's exactly what we did! She then came back to us requesting to have two of her designs placed on runners. The first one she selected for her aisle runner is below (see the post from 8/26) and then she wanted this for her table runner. Now we've done lots of leaves in the past, but this was definitely the most intricate since it included the little acorn. I absolutely adore the way it came out!

And not to be forgotten, here is some more of our most recent work for our fabulous brides. And wait 'til you see what we have in store for you tomorrow... here's a hint: I'm seeing dots...

Verse Runner: Evangeline + Emmanuel

It's no secret... verse runners are my favorite. This one had over 12 hours of love put into it... it's actually in two sections, the verse is in the middle of the runner and the names are at the end of the runner/closest to the officiant. I love Evangeline's font choices for this runner- a classic elegant script for the verse and a modern serif for the names and date.  So pretty. Best wishes to Evangeline & Emmanuel on their upcoming September wedding!

Looks like Fall is coming!

I can always tell when the seasons are getting ready to change according to the colors that start emerging on our runners. Now that we're starting to get into the fall wedding season we're starting to see lots of oranges, deep reds, golds, and browns popping up and I love it! Fall colors are just so warm and I love the way they contrast against the white and ivory runners... beautiful. We're also starting to work on a lot of orders that have leaf graphics like the two pictured above... there's just something about a single leaf that makes me think elegance... our clients make such great choices :)

COMING SEPTEMBER 1st....

We're so excited to announce a little "merger" in the works! We have always been a huge supporter of ExclusivelySew.com, an amazing embroidery website. We love them so much in fact, that starting on September 1st we will be featuring an Embroidery Line by Exclusively Sew on iDoOriginals.com! We've been working tirelessly on our website to include this line and it will feature all of our favorite wedding embroidery products. We have selected 8 of our favorite items to start with and may add more in the future. Here's just a little sneak peek of what's to come on September 1st! Be sure to check back as we will be having a fun contest to celebrate the new line!

Looking Ahead

Now that the month of August is coming to a close and we've officially completed all of our August orders, we've started to peek ahead at the weddings we have remaining for the months of September and October. In one word... WOW!!! September and October brides are really representing as we have 21 September brides and 25 October brides! And we're not even counting all the September and October orders that we've already completed... that's just what's left at this point... shew! We are going to be staying quite busy over the next couple months- but we're not complaining! We love being busy :)

Yacht Wedding: Lindsay + Adam

Fun. Beauty. Nautical. These were the descriptor words provided by bride Lindsay when she described the feel of her wedding. She explained that her and her fiance, Adam, are getting married on a yacht and trying to convey a classy and somewhat formal atmosphere. She mentioned having a nautical star include in her custom monogram designs and I love the way they turned out. We are so glad that Lindsay & Adam love their custom monograms as much as we loved creating them and we wish this nautical couple the very best in the planning for their June 2009 wedding!

Changing Your Name

I have a confession to make... I have been a total slacker in regards to officially changing my name. I know I know, I've been married for two years now and I still have a couple bills and other odds and ends in my maiden name. I keep putting it down on my to-do list every week but I never seem to check it off. I'm actually now thinking of investing in this name change kit. For the bride who has a lot on her plate and is constantly busy (like me!) I think this is probably the best option to get all the particulars done quickly and efficiently.

Sandy + Stephen

We are so excited to share this runner today! It has been a work in progress for quite sometime now... but the time put into this runner was well worth it. Sandy came to us way back in the beginning of 2008 and ordered a single initial parasol, a three letter initial parasol, a thank you parasol, four blank parasols, five pre-ready monograms, and this beautiful verse aisle runner with their names and last initial. She was very specific about the font for each part of the runner (we love our specific brides- it makes our job a little easier!) and I absolutely love her font choices and the way they work so well together. I can't wait for Sandy & Steve to receive all their items! We will definitely be inviting this couple back to be one of our "Featured Couples" so be on the look out for them after their Spring '09 wedding!

08.08.08

While 07.07.07 seemed to take the cake last year as far as the number one wedding date, 08.08.08 is not to be forgotten. Granted it is a Friday, those who are big into numerology realize the importance of this date. In numerology the number 8 represents prosperity and abundance and is also the symbol for infinity when turned on its side. It's no surprise that we had a ton of 08.08.08 weddings that we worked on this year so we want to send a big congratulations out to all of our 08.08.08 couples!

The Art of Gift Giving

Well my sister's wedding is over and it was a blast. We had such an incredible time and I can't wait for the pro pics to come back so I can share all the fabulous details with you all. In the meantime, I wanted to share some amazing gifts that were given over the weekend. Kelly made her bridesmaids feel so special when she presented us all with this adorable basket with a personalized towel wrap and slippers from Exclusively Sew. During the morning of the wedding we all wore our slippers and the photographer got a really cute shot of them. We also received beautiful earrings that matched our dresses perfectly. In additon to that, Kelly proceeded to make me feel even more special when she presented me with a gorgeous pearl bracelet the morning of the wedding to say thank you for being her Matron of Honor. So touching...
Another personal gift was a book that I created for Kelly using MyPublisher that had pictures from all her pre-wedding events including the engagement party, finding the dress, her PA shower, VA shower, and bachelorette party. I thought it would be a great way to keep all these photos together so that she could look back and reflect on her journey to the altar. I had all the bridesmaids sign the book and we gave it to her as a gift on the morning of the wedding.

First Names + Last Initial

I Do Originals

Monograms that feature the couples first names and new last initial are definitel our most popular choices. I love the way they signify the couple joining together as one. These are three of my favorite monograms to use on runners... so classic.

My Sister's Getting Married Today!

Well readers, today is the big day... my sister's wedding! I'm so excited (and nervous about my toast!) I can hardly stand it. Rest assured that I'll be back with lots of details, pictures, and all the fabulousness! In the meantime, here are all the items that iDoOriginals created for her wedding. I'm particularly excited about the Martini Bar banner we created- how cool is that?! You can't tell from the picture but the olive is sparkly :) Wish me luck with my toast!

August Featured Couple

Photography courtesy of D'Mont Reese Photography and iDoOriginals.com

We are excited to announce our August Featured Couple Michele & Maurice! We actually started working with Michele and Maurice back in 2007 in preparation for their May 31st wedding. Michele was so much fun to work with... we created booklet style programs, a beautiful verse aisle runner, a monogram table runner, two monogram banners, and a thank you parasol all in their sky blue and chocolate brown color scheme. After the wedding Michele sent us a sweet e-mail along with some of her wedding photos:

Hi Kristin!
Can you believe that our wedding is all over! Neither can I. Thanks to you and your team, our day was extraordinary! Your products added an elegant touch to our wedding, especially the runner and parasol which were big hits! Again, thank you so much for everything especially your patience!
Thanks Again,
Michele

It looks as though they had an incredible day and we're honored that they were willing to share their photos with us. Congratulations Michele & Maurice!
